FAQ

MatchPay casino questions, answered

Short answers, each based on what MatchPay and the casinos publish. For the full walkthrough, read how to use MatchPay at a casino.

The basics

Which online casinos accept MatchPay?

Bovada, Ignition, Slots.lv and Cafe Casino all publish MatchPay deposit and withdrawal instructions in their help centres, and all four list it in their limits tables. Ozoon, a Canadian-facing site, also lists MatchPay. We only count a casino after reading MatchPay on its own pages.

Is MatchPay a casino or a payment processor?

Neither. MatchPay describes itself as a peer-to-peer credit trading marketplace. It matches a player who wants to buy casino credit with one who wants to sell it, and the two settle up with each other through an app such as PayPal, Venmo or Zelle. The casino only moves the credit.

Which payment apps can I use with MatchPay?

The casinos list PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Chime and Cash App, though several of their pages name only PayPal, Venmo, Zelle and Cash App, and the withdrawal pages list only those four. Each trade uses the app the match names, so the more apps you add to an Order or Offer, the better your chance of a match.

Can I use one MatchPay account at more than one casino?

Bovada, Ignition and Slots.lv say your MatchPay account is linked solely to their site and cannot be used for outside trades. Cafe Casino says the same on one page, but its sign-up page says that if you already have a MatchPay account from another merchant, you can continue with that existing username.

Money: fees, limits and timing

Does MatchPay charge fees at casinos?

The casinos say no. Bovada calls every MatchPay transaction free, Ignition, Slots.lv and Cafe Casino call MatchPay transactions 100% free, and Slots.lv and Cafe Casino list the MatchPay withdrawal fee as None. Your payment app can still charge its own fees for some transfers.

What are the MatchPay limits?

MatchPay’s FAQ sets every trade at $10 to $2,000, and the casinos’ limits tables agree. The casinos also cap MatchPay withdrawals at two per day; a third request waits until 24 hours after your first. Older best-practices pages still say $20 to $1,000, so check your cashier.

Limits at each casino

How long does a MatchPay withdrawal take?

Once a buyer is matched, MatchPay’s clock gives 5 minutes to accept, 8 for the buyer to pay and 5 for you to confirm, so about 18 minutes. Before that, the casino has to approve the withdrawal and a buyer has to turn up, which is not guaranteed. Zelle trades started at a weekend or on a holiday complete the next business day.

Can I send MatchPay credit straight to my bank account?

No. MatchPay and all four casinos say MatchPay credit cannot be sent directly to a bank account. It only leaves through another trade, or by redepositing it back into the casino if at least $20 is in your MatchPay Available Credit.

Bonuses

Can I get a casino welcome bonus with a MatchPay deposit?

Only at Ignition, which says MatchPay deposits are currently eligible for its Welcome Bonus and Tell-a-Friend program, possibly for a limited time. Bovada, Slots.lv and Cafe Casino exclude MatchPay deposits from their welcome offers. Slots.lv does allow MatchPay deposits for its Refer-a-Friend bonus.

When a trade goes wrong

Why does my MatchPay payment show as pending?

Because the other person has not received it yet. MatchPay says a Pending or Processing status on Zelle or Chime, or Pending on Apple Pay, means the money has not arrived. On PayPal, it says to cancel a pending payment and resend it as Friends and Family or Gift. Never confirm a trade while a payment is pending.

What happens if the other player never confirms my payment?

Allow the extra 20 minutes MatchPay asks for, then click Report a Problem in the trade chat. MatchPay support reviews the trade and chat and decides in about 48 hours, at its sole discretion, and all resolutions are final. Opening a dispute with your payment app first delays MatchPay’s review.

Someone in the trade asked me to pay a different account. What should I do?

Cancel the trade. MatchPay says never to send money unless the details were shared in the trade chat window, and that moderators are never present in a trade, so anyone claiming to be one is not. If you send money to an account that is not registered on MatchPay, MatchPay says it cannot help.

Can a MatchPay payment be reversed after the trade?

It can happen. Payment apps can reverse payments: Cash App’s terms, for example, let it reverse a payment it believes should not have been made. MatchPay’s help centre lists the documents it needs in the event of a chargeback, so plan for the possibility.

Safety and the law

Is MatchPay safe to use at a casino?

MatchPay says security is its top priority, but the structure carries real risks: you pay or are paid by a stranger, MatchPay tells PayPal users to give up purchase protection by sending Friends and Family, disputes are final at MatchPay’s discretion, and payment apps such as Venmo and PayPal restrict gambling payments in their own terms. Trade only amounts you can afford to lose.

A safety checklist

Is it legal to use MatchPay casinos in my state?

That depends on your state and where you are when you play, and we cannot tell you it is legal. The casinos that list MatchPay hold offshore licences (Anjouan in the Comoros, Curaçao, and in Bovada’s case the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara), not US state licences. Michigan’s regulator called Bovada illegal in 2024. Check your state’s laws; nothing here is legal advice.

How old do I have to be?

The casinos’ own terms set 18 as the minimum. Where your state sets 21 for gambling, 21 applies. If you are under the legal age where you are, these sites are not for you.

Does MatchPay work in Canada?

Ozoon, a Canadian-facing site, lists MatchPay in its cashier with $10 to $3,000 limits. Slots.lv says it serves both the US and Canada, though its terms bar Quebec and Nova Scotia, and it does not say whether MatchPay is offered to Canadian accounts. Most of the payment apps MatchPay lists are US services, so check which ones you can actually use.

Is this site run by MatchPay or a casino?

No. MatchPayCasinos.org is independent and not affiliated with MatchPay or any casino. We earn a commission when someone joins a casino through a Visit link, which is explained on our affiliate disclosure page. That does not change what the casinos’ pages say or how we report it.
